Recycling Discovery Centre to hold British Sign Language supported tour

The event is suitable for all ages. Booking is essential and free tickets can be booked online

As part of Deaf Awareness Week, Veolia’s education team at Gillmoss Recycling Discovery Centre have announced a free British Sign Language interpreter tour for the deaf community in Merseyside and Halton.

Veolia operates the Recycling Discovery Centre on behalf of Merseyside Recycling and Waste Authority. It is a purpose-built education facility that offers tours and education sessions throughout the year.

During the experience the BSL interpreter will guide visitors on what can and can’t be recycled and go on a unique tour of the facility to learn more about the journey of recycling after it’s been collected from homes across Merseyside and Halton.

Booking Essential
The event takes place on Wednesday 29th May 2024 at 2:30PM at Gillmoss Recycling Discovery Centre, in Liverpool. Booking is essential, free tickets can be booked online.

After the success of our first British Sign Language tour in 2023, we’re delighted to host another event in 2024. Our BSL tour ensures that all visitors can experience the journey of recycling and get their questions answered. This event is part of the wider education programme which has been working towards enhanced accessibility and inclusivity for all of the community.
